The Coalition Will Not Participate in the Working Group for the Selection of Supreme Court Judges
On June 25, 2021, the Legal Committee of the Parliament of Georgia set up a working group to assist with the process of selection of Supreme Court judicial nominees. The Coalition for an Independent and Transparent Judiciary was invited to participate in the working group, along with representatives of political parties, and professional and academic groups.
We do not think that joining this group as a Coalition is reasonable. At the same time, the member organizations will individually decide on participation in the working group.
